Time doesn't exist

I've been reading a few physics books lately (Dancing Wu Li Masters & A History of Nearly Everything) and they definitely ignite some thoughts. Last night, right before I set off to dream, I contemplated whether or not time really existed or not. Seems kind of crazy but there are certain conditions were time really doesn't exist. For instance at the sub-atomic level. Things are soo tiny there (inconceivably small) that time just does not exist. Things just happen... and when they happen no time actually lapsed. Kind of interesting eh? This goes against how we interpret the world. We are used to events happening in some type of order- order implies things happen before other events which then implies time. What if time was just something created out of necessity for us to understand the world better? What if it was just a concept we grasped on so we would no longer have to burn brain cells contemplating what's really going on?

What would the world be like with out time? Time is a gift and a curse. You hate it towards the end of your work day but you never want your time here (alive) to run out.

Speaking of time... according to ideal life expectancy, I'm about 1/4 through my hour glass. It seems to go by all too fast. Hopefully folks have this time concept misunderstood so I can throw out my hour glass.

I'll keep dreaming.

Greetings

I am the habitual dreamer. Some of my thoughts will be sporatic, incoherent, and most likely confusing.

About me:

  • Your favorite programmer's programmer
  • Aspire to know enough about physics to comprehend the world better
  • Often wonders about what life could/will be like
  • Goal oriented, but sometimes I'll kick the field goal versus going for the touchdown
  • I love to dream. Sometimes I take naps just to dream and escape reality for an hour at a time

Until next time...

peace
